MG Car Club

Based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, next to the former MG factory, the MG Car Club has been around since 1930. It is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the members’ love of MG cars. The club had 55 000 affiliated members worldwide as of 2015. While most of them are from the UK, several thousand come from different countries around the world. The MG Car Club has registers dedicated to restoring and keeping up various MG car models. The fourteen club centres around the UK organise local events. Their branches are active in race championship races and track days.,

Veteran Car Club of Great Britain

The VCC of GB isn’t a club with members who are senior citizens or army veterans. Its purpose is to promote the preservation and use of old, mainly Brass or Edwardian cars. They organise promotional events and rallies. The Veteran Car Club has a dating and identification of old cars service. Another great thing the club is doing is the maintenance of an archive and a library dedicated to early motor-vehicle culture. The Veteran Car Club of Great Britain was established in 1930 and has some 1500 members today. Its headquarters are at Jessamine Court in Ashwell, Hertfordshire. One important note is that one does not have to own a veteran or Edwardian car to become a member. All you need is love for the culture!

The Under 17 Car Club

The legal driving age in Great Britain is 17. Author Sandy Barrie realised youngsters didn’t have the chance to experience the pleasure of driving before reaching that age. To fix that, he established the Under 17 Car Club in 1976. The club promotes safe and legal means for young people to hone their skills behind the wheels of different vehicles. It all happens under qualified supervision, of course. The other mission of the club is to promote interest in cars and motorsports among the youngest members of the public. Richard Burns, the 2001 World Rally Championship Winner, became a member in 1982.
